Don't miss these events! from Town Square

If you don't live in Williamsburg/Greenpoint you may not know about Town Square (don't stop reading if you live in another neighborhood!!), but I wish every neighborhood had an organization like them! Civic minded, community building, information AND pure fun creators.

There are two events that you NEED to know about no matter where you live:

NYC PTA EXPO
If you are a PTA member or officer in any neighborhood or you are an organization that wants to offer your advice or services to PTAs you need to attend this event on
Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 12 noon- 5pm
@ PS 250 George H. Lindsay Elementary 180 Montrose Ave. Williamsburg

STOP reinventing the wheel. Share information and best practices. Build community across zones and districts. This is a no brainer. There is strength and knowledge out there. This is your opportunity to share it! Just look at the workshops. You need this info.
Spread the news. Really, you guys all need this.

The other events that I love are their Baby Fest on Nov. 1, and of course School Fest which is scheduled for Sat. Feb. 7, 2015.

Joyce, do you ever do middle school talks? Thanks!

When I was first starting out, I did short MS talks, but I haven't done them for several years. They were not well attended and I found that the public elementaries are often quite good at helping families get ready for this search. This year, a few people have begun to ask. I should probably revisit this. I won't have anything prepared for this enrollment season though.

this is not time sensitive for my family (we have a couple years to go), but I think many parents with kids in K-1 grades would be interested. in my crowd (D13) at least there appears to be demand.
